I wish someone had told me that self-love, self-acceptance, and self-compassion were the true remedy—not all the things I thought I needed to “fix.”

Hi, I’m Tetiana, and my journey began much like yours, but with some unique twists. I moved to Canada from Ukraine when the war suddenly turned life upside down. I arrived here with my newborn daughter, my family, and a lot of uncertainty. Adjusting to a new country while balancing motherhood, returning to work, and focusing on personal growth was a whirlwind. I was forced to find strength in ways I’d never imagined.

Before my Canadian story I was a young professional driven by ambition, climbing the corporate ladder fast. I won awards, working for one of the world's leading consumer-centric companies*, and even became the youngest management board member at 27. But with all that success came pressure and stress. Eventually, I found myself burned out, exhausted, and feeling unhealthy, even though I was doing everything I thought was “right.” I was pushing hard, trying to look and feel perfect, but something was missing.

I know how burnout feels - the exhaustion, low energy, skin issues, digestion problems, sleep disorder. That nagging perfectionism to look gorgeous that makes everything even harder.

Like so many young girls, I explored everything: Keto, Elimination, Gluten-Free, Sugar-Free, Dairy-Free diets; CrossFit, gym, strict routines and challenges - you name it, I tried it! But none of them alone were the answer. But over time, I realized that what my body needed wasn’t another “fix” or a punishing routine. And thanks to my therapist who helped me to understand that. I needed to connect with myself and listen to what my body was truly asking for.

That’s when my relationship with health changed. I shifted from intense workouts to gentler activities and turned my kitchen into a space for experimenting with foods that made me feel good inside and out. I started studying nutrition, collaborating with dietitians, and working with holistic health experts to find what worked for me. Slowly, one step at a time I learned that health is not about the next big diet or challenge; it’s about knowing your body and building habits that keep you feeling great.

Through my journey, I discovered that true well-being comes from self-love, self-acceptance, and self-compassion. No diet or routine could replace the importance of nurturing a kind relationship with myself. This mindset shift allowed me to build a life I loved, where I could balance a career, family time, and my own health without feeling overwhelmed. I’m still on this journey, but now I enjoy the process instead of striving for perfection - and that’s what I want to share with you.
